Meet Our Team
The JH Kilt Hire team mainly consists of 5 people - Jim, David, Claire, Kirsty & Vicky. All are experienced and able to put their hands to anything. However, in order to make the business run smoothly, each person is tasked with doing their own specific job.
Jim is the owner and overlooks pretty much everything. Jim has over 35 years' experience in menswear tailoring & highland wear. This includes measuring for made-to-measure & bespoke outfits.
David is 2nd in command, almost a duplicate of Jim. Older, some would say wiser, which is true! A vast knowledge of Scottish history and much more!
Claire is also well experienced in highland wear, having worked within the industry for over 25 years! Claire is kind and caring when it comes to customers, and the same attention is paid to any garments requiring any adjustments. Claire also looks after any alterations to our outfits, whether it be taking up a sleeve, hemming a kilt, shortening trousers etc., Claire's our miracle worker!
Kirsty & Vicky are like the female version of Ant & Dec, keeping everyone on their toes and a smile on all our faces! They're also a very important part of the team. If it wasn't for them, nobody would be getting their kilt hire outfits! It's almost a daily process making up outfits, quality checking each garment, cleaning, pressing, packing, and double-checking everything before it goes out! On return, it's more or less the same process, but in reverse! This is a huge job, and a very important one at that. You don't realise the work involved until you're in the thick of it!
The unofficial team outside of the showroom are Davie, John, Blair, Boab & Liam. These guys are the "faces" of JH Kilt Hire.... on the catwalk, anyway! Anytime you see us at a wedding show, these guys will be strutting their stuff in our stunning kilt hire outfits, but they're not the kind of guys who think they're the bees knees! No! They're more game for a laugh and love to interact with the audience, so beware next time you're at a wedding show. You might find a flying jacket landing on your lap!
